Purah Beeswax Candles care passionately about the environment and supporting the honey bee. We believe that educating children about the honey bee in a fun and interactive way is just one approach that can be adopted in helping support the future of the honey bee.

Purah Beeswax Candles offer sessions to school groups (from pre-schoolers right up to secondary schools); Rainbows; Brownies, Girl Guides; Scout groups plus community groups.

In a typical session lasting between one and one and a half hours, children will learn about the vital role played by the honey bee in pollination; the benefits of honey and how it is made (with the help of Bertie the Bee and his giant flower) and they will also look at the uses of beeswax. Children get to dress up as a beekeeper too! Each child gets the chance to roll their very own beeswax candle and paint their own hand made clay bee with beautiful water colour paints. Each session finishes with a story with a small discussion looking at the ways in which the children can help save the bees.
